Who AM I?
Echoing back to the timeless eras of music that continue to shape her current artistry, Lana is an up-and-coming R&B starlet that has something to say, blending the elements of 70s Funk and Soul. Originally hailing from South Carolina, she made her way to Nashville to attend Belmont, studying Commercial Voice with an Emphasis in Music Business, which has been very rewarding for her.
Singing from the time she knew what words were, she has always loved music, and the way that it makes her feel and lets her express herself. Lana is no stranger to the stage, with an extensive background in performance mediums such as landing leading theatre roles, attending South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, and attending Berklee College of Music’s Exclusive Five Week Jazz Intensive. She has had her fair share of performing experience, with her most recent accomplishment being supporting award winning Nashville band Judah and the Lion as a background vocalist on the final show of their most recent tour and being a part of Belmont’s premiere performing ensemble, Phoenix, and winning the R&B/Hip Hop Showcase held in the Fischer Center at Belmont, and then performing in Best of the Best showcase in Belmont’s Curb Event Center. Lana has recently started working on her first single with intention to release her very first EP.
Taking inspiration from the intricate musicianship of Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu, to the catchy upbeat and lighthearted sounds of Earth Wind and Fire and Lizzo, her funky chords and attractive lyricism about love, loss, and women empowerment, are not only fun, but enjoyable, and make you want to get up and dance along with her. Lana’s artistic superpower is her authenticity, and her mission of staying true to herself is bound to attract audiences and listeners from all over.
